Chordal is a unique resource that teaches ear-training, theory, musical fluency, and context using hundreds of actual songs for guitarists, pianists, and bassists and other musicians. This context comes from using the Nashville Number System (replacing chords with numbers that correspond to their harmonic distance from each other in a musical key). Learning this language develops your ear to instantly recognize chord progressions for the vast majority of songs. Perfect for beginners or pros, kids or adults, any instrument or musical genre - anybody can benefit from Chordal.

Context to Songs

Just a few chords are the basis for almost all types of music. These common chords act like a language, always sounding and working together predictably in a musical key. Chordal teaches this concept for the first time using charted out popular songs from every genre of music, new and old. 

Chords to Numbers

This musical language is based off of seeing and hearing the distance between common chords in a musical key. We do this by replacing chords with numbers when learning songs. This method is referred to as the Nashville Number System, and has been used for decades by professional musicians. Chances are your favorite song started out as a number chart. Even musicians who don’t use charts but play by ear still unknowingly use this concept. Learning music this way makes it possible to quickly digest and perform new music, develop a musical ear, and learn music theory, all at once. All it takes to start with the Nashville Number System is four chords and four corresponding numbers.
